My name is Matt. My mom is Kathy. My mom is 63 and has dementia, most likely Frontotemporal dementia (Pick’s Disease). This is my blog to chronicle our ups and downs. It’s also my place to remember the person she was before the disease. My mom raised me and my brother with humor, patience and love. We still try to use all three as we adapt and endure. This is our story.
Hi Matt,
This is Arlena! Hope you doing well. I want to say Thank you so much for creating this web blog. We all have been wanting to know how Kathy is doing. We are fine and would love to see you and hear from you. Please tell Kathy we said Hello and we send our love to all of you. Please let Joey know we send our love to him as well.
Hope to see you soon.
Love you,
Arlena
I just stumbled across your site by mistake. I was compelled to keep reading, it is very interesting. I just lost my grandma earlier this year from myocardial infarction, but she was a sweet lady, but towards the end her altzhimers was getting really bad and I decided to move back home from out of state. My gram was the same in many ways, she always knew me well ( I like to think I was her favorite grandchild lol) but she forgot so many things except her faith in our God. I can remember singing with her and saying funny little sayings that she could just quote all day long. But I have to go I have work in a few hours and I still have to get some sleep, but I will keep your mother and your family in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Nolan
